Our client are looking for a highly experienced Procurement Manager who will be responsible for Procurement activities for the Ministry of Defence workstream and ad-hoc EPC procurement and contract management.
The successful candidate must be a proficient polish speaker, and have experience of working within high value contract management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement and contract management activities for forthcoming Polish Ministry of Defence contracts
  • Manage any procurement requirements for these packages including bid assessments, conducting the commercial assessment and supplier appraisal.
  • Ensure timely and close co-operation and communication with the package managers
  • Responsible for following project procurement and contract management procedures and good practice.
  • Contract manage the package contracts including payment obligations, monitoring supplier and employer contract obligations
  • Manage variations with support from legal and package management
  • Co-ordinate with finance team and insurance to ensure communication and compliance.

Main Tasks

  • Ensure the project construction is supported to meet any procurement requirements.
  • Manage contract management and procurement related interfaces and activities
  • Continuous cooperation with other work streams, packages and other departments
  • Monitor contract time schedules and delivery
  • Conduct relevant supplier negotiations in procurement, contract management and claims resolution
  • Pro-actively anticipate and avoid unexpected claims in Package's Contracts
  • Assess consequences of technical decisions by package team and define actions along development and execution of
  • the package works
  • Managing variation process together with package managers, legal etc.
  • Consider all commercial aspect during contract negotiations
  • Negotiate most economically advantageous deals with suppliers
  • Assess and monitor suppliers performance
  • Execution of the contract and procurement processes
  • Conducting commercial evaluation of bids during procurement process
  • Create and Maintain contract tracker to track contract obligations, payments
  • Manage payment applications with package manager
  • Track commodity and indexation prices for the package
  • Report progress and status of contracts to Procurement & Contract Lead

Qualifications

  • High level of spoken and written Polish
  • Procurement/Contract Manager background.
  • Experience of contract management within a high value, complex package interface projects.
  • Good working knowledge of FIDIC Yellow Book, BIMCO Time Charter, forms of Contract.
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel and knowledgeable with a planning tool such as MS Project or Primavera
