JOB ID: #7069 Consent and Environment Manager - Offshore Location: Remote – UK RoleAn exciting new opportunity has become available in our clients Offshore Consents team for a Consent and Environment Manager, where you will be responsible for supporting offshore consenting activity on current and future offshore wind projects. In this role you will be responsible for: Preparing and submitting consent applications. Providing consent and environment specific support within timeframes agreed by the project development manager. Managing consultants and reviewing inputs. As Consent and Environment Manager you will also be responsible for representation at relevant offshore wind industry working groups to provide strategic cross-portfolio input into the offshore wind portfolio and provide feedback from the projects to these groups. This role will provide consenting support across of number of projects within the development portfolio depending on the individual project resource needs. In addition will support due diligence activities related to any Merger and Acquisition (M&A) processes as part of the development of the offshore wind portfolio. The strategic element of this role requires working closely with the Public Affairs team and external industry groups and bodies to maintain knowledge of policy changes in an exciting and maturing industry sector. It is critical that the role builds close relationships with industry bodies to keep on top of current and upcoming changes to provide relevant feedback to the projects. Responsibilities Manage the preparation of offshore consent applications, variations, plans and programmes and discharge of conditions as may be required throughout the project development. Facilitate and support detailed technical discussions with key external stakeholders and internal project stakeholders relating to offshore consenting aspects. Provide due diligence and other support as required to acquisition opportunities so they can be assessed. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of UK consenting and environment best practice and liaise with shareholder colleagues to ensure that the company comply with latest and good practice. This includes engaging other colleagues on regulation and policy matter to minimise their impact on the business. Lead consent related offshore wind industry group participation and ensure latest information is fed back to the project portfolio and provide support to consultation responses. With support and collaboration with other consent team members and Public Affairs team. Prepare tenders to obtain bids by external consultants for work packages and liaise with the procurement and legal teams to recommend and appoint consultants as required by the project needs. Management of Employers Requirements and review of relevant Contractor documentation. Support the development teams in producing development C&E budgets as part of the wider project budget. Manage and control any budget and costs associated with the role including the approved budget for each project. Input to project master programmes to enabling monitoring of consenting programme. Support the wider teams to ensure all projects documentation is kept up to date including trackers covering risks, mitigation, activities, decisions and budget. Required You will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field e.g. environmental science, marine biology, engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrable experience in managing environment and consents for offshore wind projects or major infrastructure projects including Development Consent Order (DCO) and Marine Licencing processes across the UK and Ireland. Strong understanding of the renewable energy regulatory environment and experience of the consenting, planning and environment issues at DCO, Marine Licensing, Section 36 and Town & Country Planning levels and offshore regulatory frameworks. Onshore consenting experience of offshore wind projects would be an advantage, but not essential. Experience of interpreting consenting and environmental reports and advice from consultants and stakeholders. Thereafter, preparing internal reports and presenting summaries of key risks and mitigation recommendations. Experience of managing the development process to a positive consent decision, including de-risking of the project and supporting project optimisation.
