We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director for a leading Renewable Energy Investment Fund who have built a large portfolio of wind, solar and storage assets throughout the UK and Europe.  With over £2bn already under management, further greenfield and brownfield investment is in process.
 
The selected candidate will manage the commercial team who are primarily responsible for maximising the investment case, through onboarding and handing over to Asset Management.  The individual will be a bridge between Investment and Asset Management and must be able to collaborate effectively with both parties, pre and post deal completion and throughout the asset’s lifespan.
 

• The Commercial Director will advise the Board on market movements, trends, portfolio performance and efficiency while be capable of identifying commercial opportunity and be confident in communicating these with the Board.
• Balance the monetisation of the offtake PPA’s versus the efficiency of the plant.
• Advise on potential disposals, repowering’s (in association with asset management / operations ).
• Point of contact for joint ventures and create strong internal and external relationships.
• Work closely with finance to assess cash position and dividend cover.
• Control of PPA market, seeing revenue opportunity, understanding the market model, and advising on optimal revenue models

 

• Significant previous experience in the Commercial Management of Renewable Energy assets will be required.
• A skilled communicator to work effectively with other disciplines and understand the whole picture from investment, acquisition to new build operations and asset integrity.
• Open minded, inquisitive, adaptable, and agile minded.
• Team orientated, that works closely with asset management, finance, legal, investment on a peer-to-peer basis
• Fiscally competent and able to understand and adjust financial drivers in association with CFO / Finance
• Ability to spot business opportunity through intimate knowledge of industry trends and legislative changes
• Detail orientated but able to describe concepts / direction, ideas in simple understandable terms.
