Position Overview:

Our client, a prominent renewable energy company based in Seoul, is seeking a dynamic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join its leadership team. This role offers the chance to significantly impact South Korea’s renewable energy landscape by driving the technical strategy and operational framework of a high-growth platform. 

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee design engineering, EPC, supply chain, construction, quality, commissioning, and O&M across all projects.
- Collaborate with internal departments, external contractors, and logistics agencies to ensure timely project completion.
- Track and analyse key plant performance metrics, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain commercial cost strategies with key partners to create sustainable value.
- Conduct comprehensive internal audits of EPC contractors, subcontractors, and engineering companies.
- Provide technical and logistical support to construction and project managers.
- Proactively monitor plant operations and implement timely problem-solving solutions.
- Ensure adherence to industry-leading safety and quality standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in setting long-term growth strategies and develop execution plans.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in solar and energy storage technologies.

Skills & Competences:

- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Proven experience in executing solar projects with a focus on improving processes and capabilities.
- Background in engineering, procurement, and construction companies, specifically in solar systems delivery.
- Strong understanding of solar project development, including engineering requirements and construction management.
- Established relationships within the solar industry across engineering, procurement, and construction sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organisational levels.
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking capabilities with solid analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Passion for the renewable energy sector and a drive for operational excellence.
