Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support commissioning and operational readiness activities across offshore substations (OSS) within a major offshore wind development. The role will ensure safe electrical operations, adherence to electrical safety rules, and oversight of HV/LV switching activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design phase to ensure operational needs are fully considered.
  • Participate in SAT/SIT activities to gain familiarity with electrical systems prior to energisation.
  • Assist in developing and implementing project-specific Electrical Safety Rules (ESR).
  • Carry out HV and LV switching operations and manage associated safety documentation.
  • Plan and prepare electrical work under the direction of the Lead SAP.
  • Coordinate with Authorised Persons (APs) and other SAPs to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Monitor electrical activities, perform safety checks, and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Review work requests, RAMS, and electrical risk assessments.
  • Respond to abnormal conditions and initiate emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of switching operations, permits, isolations, and handovers.
  • Conduct training sessions for Persons and Competent Persons as required.
  • Support commissioning, energisation, and operation of electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with contractors and interface teams to coordinate electrical activities.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and safety walkdowns when required.
 

Key Deliverables:

  • Creation of operational processes and procedures.
  • Management of HV safety from the system perspective.
  • Safe operation of offshore wind power assets.
  • Oversight of safe working environments and first energisations.
  • Preparation of handover and operational documentation.
  • Support implementation of software-based systems (PtW, LOTO, etc.).
  • Input to electrical safety rules and compliance processes.
 

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in high-voltage commissioning and operations, with previous authorisation at 230kV/66kV.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety rules, switching operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience preparing and managing safety documentation and switching schedules.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proactive, safety-focused, and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary offshore team.
