 JOB ID: #7041 Offshore Substation Transmission Specialist Location: Providence, RI  Key Responsibilities Implementation of the Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work.Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshoreOversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment.Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network.Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process worksCoordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages.Ensure compliancy with and managing of Electrical Safety Rules.Safety coordination in electrical matters.Act as senior authorized person.Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers.Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams.Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters.Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project.Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities.Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings.Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules.Check method statements for electrical matters.Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules.Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical mattersAssist different departments when required.Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if requiredAct as Training Mentor for Various projects.Take electrical operational responsibility for an entire substation.Possibility to work in adverse work conditions/emergency work scenarios.On-call may arise during certain work tasks.GWO training and HUET training to be completed.Ability to pass medical fitness test DeliverablesInput to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)Participation in different auditsReports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipments.Onsite check of switching program.Participation in the planning of resource and work activities.Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates.Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspect.Switching on HV/MV & LV equipmentGrounding of equipment & creating isolation zone’s Setting up demarcation of worksites for contractors based on Work Requests.Lead toolbox talks to start working parties.Pre and Post energization checks of all equipment across the windfarm.Participating in work rotations both offshore and onshore if assigned to that rotation.Project specific administrative tasks to assist Lead SAP.Ability to work on Microsoft platforms (excel, word, outlook, etc.…)Ability to lift 50lbs.Say in relation to MV/HV switching and isolations.Issue of Electrical Safety Rules safety rules documents.Management of electrical safety to work onsite. Requirements 275kV Senior Authorized Person.Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, offshore experience preferable.Complete and up to date GWO and HUET (incl. CA-EBS if required by site).Climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/264lb.Minimum 1 year of working experience within onshore substations systemsMinimum 6 months of working experience within offshore substations systems,Preferable.Minimum 1 year of working experience within wind turbines, preferable.
