JOB ID: #6830 SSU Manager Onshore Location: Brooklyn The Onshore SSU/EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring safe project execution based on the Company SSU/EHS focus areas. The Onshore SSU/EHS Manager is part of the project’s Onshore Management Team and, together with the overall project SSU/EHS Manager, develop and implement safety policies and procedures for the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT) and Onshore Substation (ONS) work sites. The project Onshore SSU/EHS Manager shall be a role model for SSU within the internal organization, and towards our Contractors.Key Responsibilities and tasks Continuously contribute to achieving the project's SSU/EHS Follow-Up Strategy and business goals through constructive working cooperation with all involved parties. Secure identification, planning, and performance of analyses and follow-up activities as defined in the local SSU/EHS Activity Plan. Set up an SSU/EHS inspection program and lead the execution of plans. Ensure that all contractors on site comply with safety regulations and that all work is carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Follow up the contractors follow up of sub-contractors SSU work. Secure emergency response and notification for the construction sites Cooperate with all SSU/EHS Contract, sub-contract managers and the overall project PMT SSU/EHS Manager to secure efficient experience transfer, correct manning, and synergies across sub-projects for the construction sites. Follow up authority activities for the construction sites in close cooperation with the project’s permitting and compliance personnel. Ensure experience transfer within SSU/EHS to and from the Onshore project and its delivery areas. Be familiar with relevant SSU/EHS regulations at the local, state and federal level, Equinor’s SSU/EHS management system and SSU/EHS industry consensus standards for the region Help develop and deliver relevant SSU/EHS campaigns for the site in collaboration with the contractors. Develop and deliver SSU/EHS orientations as relevant from the Equinor perspective. Attend and lead regular SSU/EHS meetings. Ensure appropriate PPE is available and inspected as necessary on site. Conduct safety audits and verifications to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Provide safety training for Equinor personnel and ensure that contractors follow their safety training program. Give input to the Project Risk register based on evaluated risks SSU/EHS and follow up according to agreed action plans. Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents at construction sites. Maintain records of safety incidents, inspections, and training. Report work hours and incidents in company’s tool for /EHS reporting. Secure incident reporting from contractors in accordance with the contract. Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans. Follow-up human rights in prequalification and ongoing contracts. Ensure alignment and close collaboration with the rest of the Onshore organization, in particular the permitting/compliance, construction, and quality managers. Manage a team of Equinor site safety inspectors and provide guidance and support as needed.
