Our client is looking for an Engineering Manager, Development, to have a critical role in driving optioneering and engineering works to ensure optimal cost, fit for purpose, and safe asset intervention solutions are planned and prepared ready for delivery / construction that support the business’ regulatory, stakeholder and customer commitments.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Development Team to provide accountability and management of operational interconnector asset intervention projects from Needs Case sign-off through to delivery / Construction handover.
  • Appoint and lead the scheme team during pre-construction phases, actively managing key stakeholders to ensure their timely input and agreement to the selection and development of asset investments, pursuant to timely approvals.
  • Lead team in assessment of options for asset interventions Needs Cases that have been signed off with a view to selection of an option to take forward for development.
  • Provision of comprehensive scope information for developed asset intervention solutions for operational interconnectors.
  • Lead team in developing the optimal, efficient and safe solution for asset interventions in line with CDM and SHESQ considerations, documenting all residual design issues, hazards and risks.
  • Experience and knowledge of HVDC interconnectors and associated systems including converter stations, onshore & offshore cables and associated infrastructure.
  • Experience of successful multiple project delivery. Ability to produce work of a very high standard to tight deadlines.
  • Broad knowledge of SHESQ procedures, policies, and legislation and their application, including the application and enactment of CDM.
  • Experience of working and making critical business and operational decisions with different priorities.
  • Demonstrable experience of problem-solving and an appetite for continuous improvement in relation to both their own development and that of the team.
  • Educated to a minimum of HND or Degree (equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
