Project & Structured Finance Manager
 
Location: Milan, Italy
 
Our client is looking for a Project & Structured Finance Manager who will work within the Project & Structured Finance team to support and manage the development, financing, and construction of Solar PV and Battery Storage projects in the EMEA region. Our client has established a leadership position in both solar and battery storage project development. With a total pipeline of 25 GWp in solar and 47 GWh in battery storage.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Financial modelling for tender, projects acquisition, PPA negotiation and financing and sales purposes.
  • Due diligence coordination role, either for acquisition, financing, and sales purposes.
  • Preparation of market reports, investment memorandums, project teasers and other documents and presentations, as required.
  • Create, adapt, and maintain complex financial models for Canadian Solar projects in connection with projects acquisitions, financings, PPA and EPC bids and M&A activities. Financial models to manage will be either to be developed internally, or coming from third parties.
  • Develop internal/external investment memorandums and briefs, for different stakeholders.
  • Support in the origination, negotiation and closing of project and corporate finance transactions, liaising with banks, financial partners and other institutions and their advisors.
  • Identify and quantify key investment drivers to perform sensitivities and be able to provide an analytical assessment of different business cases, so deals can be structure in the most efficient way.
  • Have a strong capability to understand and asses about the different tax and regulatory aspects of the business opportunities within the region.
  • Work closely with partners and other stakeholders to evaluate and follow up
  • from a financial and business perspective, the key markets within our region and detect new business opportunities.
  • Interface closely with Sales, Business Development, Engineering, Legal and other departments to help guide projects to move forward quickly and efficiently from a project finance perspective.
  • Perform general research duties and statistical analysis.
  • Support in the management of the insurance program of the projects in the region.
  • Work closely with the rest of the structured Finance Team supporting with the different projects demands.
 
 
 
 
 
 Requirements
  • Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related area.
  • Experience of at least two years in a Big Four or an investment fund will be a plus.
  • MBA or other related master qualification will be highly valuable.
  • Excellent financial modelling skills being and expert/advance user of Excel. Certain level of experience with macros and Visual Basic will be a must.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and understanding of relevant financial and mathematical modelling techniques for project finance and assets valuations.
  • Project Finance and/or M&A experience of at least three years.
