Our client is looking for The Head of APAC, Renewables. This role is responsible for representing the clients’ interests with all stakeholders in the region so as to ensure the long-term, sustainable, profitable growth for the client, as well as commensurate benefits to all the stakeholders. Foremost among his/her responsibilities is to ensure that all work undertaken is consistent with Purpose, Valued Behaviours and policies and, above all else, that the safety of our employees is placed above all other priorities.
 
The role is responsible for creating and implementing strategy plans including investment plans for the region, and within the context of these plans for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities with the aim to generate sustainable, profitable growth in the region. He/she is also responsible for working with the senior leadership teams to make the appropriate investments to deliver on the strategy plans, and for building a local setup to enable safe and sustainable execution of the plans. The role will be responsible for the recruitment of in-region senior talent as well as actions to ensure the organisation remains agile, lean and effective. The focus will be to drive efficiencies, organisational effectiveness and commercial excellence to ensure effective engagement with employees, customers and suppliers, and local communities, and for ensuring that all the work is undertaken with due care for the environment.
 
The role will be responsible for driving a winning culture based on collaboration, innovation, respect and responsibility, whilst ensuring risk management and compliance is carried out to the highest standard. The role will provide in-country leadership, direction and motivation for our employees, ensuring regular reviews of employees’ job function and performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring HSEQ is at the forefront of the business in terms of culture, processes, systems and leadership.
  • Achieving agreed financial performance and other metrics including responsibility for timely, accurate and regular financial and corporate reporting for the region, P&L for the region
  • Driving Business Development activities in the region and development of a robust pipeline of opportunities which are fully entered and managed within the CRM system and ensure full compliance to the Sales & Tender Gate Approvals Process and the clients’ legal policies.
  • Developing an effective network within the market sector / region that creates new opportunities and improve the clients’ success in delivering differentiated solutions for customers.
  • Identify the current and future market sector drivers and market intelligence to enable the development of the client’s product & service capability.
    Identify the need for attendance at market sector events, trade shows, conferences and industry networking events and agree attendance in line with agreed budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with all the Divisions in the region to maximize the opportunities and the synergies available.
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders and functions to develop the value and recognition in the region.
  • Drive regional sales strategy including analysis of competitors positioning, services and market trends, internal capabilities, and marketing program needs.
  • Drive a project management methodology that minimizes risks in all projects and maximizes the chances of success, creating visibility for performance on each project, ensuring lessons learned/continuous improvement process is followed and feedback.
  • Ensure all projects are planned and are adequately resourced in order to provide a safe and quality service, that delivers inline or better to as sold.
  • Develop and manage relationships with local shareholders and other strategic partners.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, environmental law and Group policies ensuring risk management performance to company standard(s) and reporting non-conformance to Group Company Secretary.
  • Provide leadership in fostering a customer-focused culture.
  • Performance management of all employees, ensuring new employees are fully inducted and ensuring that all employees have clear objectives which are reviewed and assessed at least twice annually.
  • Succession planning for all key roles and develop talented individuals to ensure optimal employee retention levels.
  • Promote a positive and consistent image of the company globally including alignment with and observance of the Clients’ Valued Behaviours.
Delivery against the 1-5-year Strategy Document / Business Plan
  • P&L budgets met, KPIs on all operations and deliverables are met
  • HSEQ and Sustainability –meeting all KPIs and ensure the organization has the correct behaviours and attitude to safety “Stop the job”, learn and share
  • Employee engagement – 80% response rates and the employee satisfaction rating at least in line with the industry benchmark.
  • Succession plans for all key roles and talent management are in place.
  • Profitable growth with a clear plan for the long term.
  • Regional collaboration – examples of leveraging the brand in the regions.
  • Personal compliance with the valued behaviours.
  • Maintains a significant presence in region and with willingness to travel across the region and overseas as defined by business need.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to build influential relationships quickly. • Highly personable with strong customer management skills

    Knowledge, Skills & Experiences
  • Experienced in operating in the APAC territory / region, with a strong 10+ years’ experience in offshore wind and/or subsea contracting.
  • Educated to a degree standard or higher – engineering degree with commercial experience preferred.
  • A proven record of success in general or business development/commercial management, preferably in a related industry.
  • Experience leading and implementing strategies within a regional or matrix organization, with a focus on increasing customer engagement and growth.
  • Proven at delivering results and meeting financial and operational KPIs.
  • Outstanding leadership credentials, with evidence of leading multi-faceted teams to drive successful and profitable growth.
  • Experience in devising, defining, communicating and implementing company strategies.
  • Able to assess and anticipate market trends to support the strategic decision making.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to influence and persuade key internal stakeholders to deliver customer solutions and achieve results.
  • True team player, who builds, develops and drives high performing teams, whilst putting the interests of the company and our stakeholders at the forefront of everything we do.
  • Exceptional communitive skills required due to the nature of the role. • Excellent judgement and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Adept at managing the full employment cycle including attracting, hiring and performance management, engagement and retention of personnel.
  • A self-starter who is adept at working with cross-functional teams and is skilled at selling a vision to customers and employees alike.
  • Rigorous, disciplined and process oriented in order to see, initiate and bring to completion opportunities to improve process efficiency in the current business model.
  • Highly analytical and able to use data to develop a business case or a proposal.
  • High level of business and commercial acumen.
