Location: Spain
As WHSEQ Director, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with our client’s WHSEQ Management system and will coordinate and ensure WHSEQ activities & follow up actions are undertaken and ensuring adequate sustainability and Social due diligence and searches on undertaken suppliers and contractors throughout their lifecycle of their Solar Projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Promote a best-in-class Health, Safety, Environmental, Social and Quality culture within the organization. Leading the organization Quality systems
- Ensuring WHSES and Quality compliance with best practice and legal requirements including that WHSES legal registry is maintained.
- Preparing WHSE and Quality inputs for reports and presentation at various levels: Company, Operational Risk Committee, Portfolio and Project levels.
- Leading qualification of suppliers and contractors, undertaking WHSE and Quality DD audits, risk assessments, review of HSE and Quality Plans.
- Establishing and managing WHSES and Quality framework service agreements
- Ensure WHSES and Quality legal clauses and technical exhibits in various agreements (EPC, O&M, Equipment Supply) are best-in-class and up to date, in particular Quality Assurance Agreements (QAA) and Customer Quality Requirements (CQR) for PV modules. Coordinating and ensuring the fulfilment of those agreements.
- Performing Site Inspections of projects under construction
- Perform quality control programs during the whole cycle: pre-manufacturing, manufacturing, pre-shipment, sampling and laboratory tests, inspections and quality controls and audits.
- Ensuring (when required assisting) that HSE incident and accident investigations are completed adequately.
- Preparation of Non-conformance Reports (NCR) with corrective action request (8D method) and where possible including solution proposals, following-up on corrective actions. Claim data evaluation and reporting
- WHSES workshops and Quality Business review with suppliers, contractors and development partners, reviewing monthly Development partners and Project WHSES reports.
- Preparing WHSES training matrix and ensuring employee's training is kept up to date
- Reviewing annual KPIs with board/risk committee
- WHSE and Quality budget preparation at Department and Project level and , monitoring.
Experience/Qualifications
- To succeed in this role, you should have at significant experience in a senior WHSES and Quality role.
- Ideally from the renewable energy sector.
- You must have the ability to work as part of a team. Having WHSES experience across Europe in a developer or construction role is advantageous.
- A strong understanding of the development, construction and operational phases processes is also desirable.
- A qualification to at least degree level in WHSES is required.
- Ideally, a member of CMIOSH or MIEMA is advised but not essential.
- Being Multilinguistic would be advantageous however excellent written and spoken English is required.
