Senior Project Manager – Energy Storage Advisory (EMEA)
Role Overview
We are representing a leading international technical advisory and independent engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Energy Storage Advisory team within the EMEA renewables platform.
This role provides technical and commercial due diligence across energy storage, solar + storage, and hybrid renewable portfolios, supporting project financing, acquisitions, and asset sales.
The position sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, and commercial risk, working closely with lenders, investors, developers, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will combine strong engineering fundamentals with commercial judgement, client-facing capability, and the ability to lead complex advisory engagements from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver technical due diligence (TDD) for energy storage and solar + storage projects across development, financing, and M&A transactions
Review and assess key project contracts, including EPC, BSA, interconnection, PPA, O&M, LTSA, and major supply agreements
Analyse and validate financial models, reviewing CAPEX, OPEX, degradation, warranties, performance assumptions, and risk sensitivities
Evaluate operating strategies, dispatch profiles, and energy-use cases to ensure technical and commercial alignment
Produce high-quality technical advisory and due diligence reports, clearly summarising risks, mitigants, and conclusions
Integrate input from engineering, financial, and environmental specialists into cohesive deliverables
Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with wider project management teams
Engage directly with clients, lenders, and developers, presenting findings and responding to technical queries
Identify and communicate project risks, applying best practices and lessons learned
Support business development, including proposals, client discussions, and market engagement
Represent the firm at industry conferences and events
Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of internal tools, templates, and methodologies

Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred)
8+ years’ experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or energy infrastructure, ideally within advisory, development, or lending environments
Demonstrated experience reviewing contracts and financial models for infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of project finance, bankability, and risk assessment
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how technical decisions impact project economics
Comfortable mentoring junior staff and contributing to team capability building
Familiarity with European energy storage markets, policy, and regulatory frameworks
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills; openness to digital tools and technologies
Additional technical exposure (e.g. Python, SCADA, cybersecurity) advantageous but not required
