Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team in ensuring the profitability, cash management, cost control, and accurate reporting of all schemes. The position reports directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and is integral to the contract delivery team. This role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity and operational success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the application and credit control processes.
- Understand income forecasts and pricing of variations.
- Manage the change control system effectively.
- Assess project risks and contribute to risk management strategies.
- Produce Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Understand and contribute to Cost to Complete (CTC) processes.
- Generate and analyse forecasting data.
- Oversee the full sub-contract cycle and contribute to sub-contract documentation.
- Assist with weekly cost-to-complete and budget reviews with contract delivery teams.
- Upload necessary documentation in line with business requirements.
- Review weekly site records, including allocation sheets and site diaries.
- Attend project progress meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial performance reports.
- Gain cross-functional experience to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within it.
About You
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional experience in a similar role within the industry.
- Relevant certifications in commercial management or quantity surveying are advantageous.
- Mid-level to senior-level experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial and commercial processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of contract management and cost control.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Understanding of project management principles and practices.
