Weld Inspector

Our client is looking for a Weld Inspector to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project in Peterhead.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor fabricators Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities.
• Review approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Review Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Review Welders Performance Qualifications records (WPQ).
• Provide Independent Welding and Fabrication support and advice.
• Review Fabrication Inspection and Test Plans and final fabrication pack.
• Conduct visual inspections of weld set up/weld quality and complete dimensional inspections as required.
• Review and endorse NDT reports in a timely manner.
• Prescribe and monitor weld repairs to code.
• Verify the application of NDT methods for inspection activities.
• Maintain a contemporaneous record of daily activities.

About You

• PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in monitoring Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities.
• Strong understanding of welding procedures and inspection standards.
• Ability to provide independent support and advice on welding and fabrication.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
