Our client is looking for a Project Manager (OHL) to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project. This role will involve working within the Overhead Lines (OHL) Framework for National Grid and will focus on the successful delivery of a portfolio of high-profile and technically challenging schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage full project mobilisation, including establishment of site facilities, procurement of subcontractors, and onboarding of project personnel.
- Provide visible and effective leadership on health, safety, environmental and compliance matters, always promoting a strong safety culture.
- Manage project risks, quality assurance processes, and ensure full compliance with legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate project forecasting, cost control, and robust financial performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, monitor, and update project programmes, ensuring construction activities align with agreed schedules and milestones.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the project team, fostering high performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Manage key stakeholders and project interfaces, maintaining clear communication and positive working relationships.
- Oversee contract administration and supply chain management to ensure best value, performance, and timely delivery.
About You
- Proven experience in a Project Manager role, ideally within the Energy or related infrastructure sector.
- Experience delivering National Grid projects is advantageous, though not essential.
- Demonstrated strong leadership capability with a proven ability to manage internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders effectively.
- Comprehensive construction knowledge, with experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong track record of successfully managing project budgets, delivery programmes, and project risk registers.
- Sound understanding of UK legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to Health & Safety.
- Proven commitment to safe systems of work and best-practice site management standards.
- Strong commercial awareness with proven experience in financial control and cost management.
- Solid working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract, including change control processes, early warnings, and compensation events.
