Senior Quantity Surveyor – MEP Projects
LSP are partnered with a leading Data Centre Contractor, and are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with MEP expertise to join a specialist project team delivering technically complex schemes across the London market.
The role will suit a commercially focused professional who is comfortable operating on large-scale built environment projects and wants to take a lead role across cost management, contract administration, procurement support, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Role Overview
Working as part of an integrated project delivery team, the appointed individual will be responsible for leading and supporting commercial activity from early package engagement through to final account close-out. Key areas of focus will include:
- Taking commercial responsibility for MEP-related project packages, with exposure to wider construction and fit-out scopes where required.
- Monitoring project cashflow, valuations, variations, and change processes to support accurate commercial reporting.
- Reviewing project performance to identify commercial exposure, opportunities for improvement, and appropriate mitigation actions.
- Working closely with delivery teams to protect project margins and support effective financial outcomes.
- Assisting with procurement planning, package strategy, tender review, and contract set-up.
- Managing subcontractor commercial accounts, including interim applications, change events, payment cycles, and final account agreements.
- Providing guidance to junior commercial colleagues and contributing to a collaborative project environment.
- Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to drive cost certainty, value, and commercially sound decision-making.
- Supporting design, procurement, and delivery teams in identifying practical value improvement opportunities.
- Maintaining robust commercial governance and ensuring contractual processes are followed throughout delivery.
- Developing effective working relationships across client, consultant, supply chain, and internal project teams.
- Acting as the key point of contact for all commercial matters, providing advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolving disputes and managing claims promptly and efficiently to minimize project disruption and adhere to industry standards.
Candidate Profile
- Degree-qualified, or equivalent, in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics, or a closely related subject.
- Exposure to data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, high-tech, or similarly complex construction environments would be beneficial.
- Established post-qualification commercial experience, ideally gained across major building services or specialist engineering packages.
- Strong understanding of MEP package delivery, subcontract management, and associated commercial processes.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a wider multidisciplinary project team.
- Confident user of relevant commercial, reporting, and Microsoft Office systems.
- Clear and professional communicator with the ability to present commercial information to a range of stakeholders.
- Commercially astute, organised, and able to balance detail-focused analysis with broader project priorities.
- Proactive approach to learning, development, and improving commercial delivery standards.
- Working towards professional accreditation, or keen to pursue chartership, would be viewed positively.
- Analytical, solutions-focused, and confident resolving commercial issues in a fast-moving project environment.
