Our client is looking for a Senior Project Planner to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project. This permanent position is based in Bathgate with a hybrid working environment, requiring site visits to locations including Kilmarnock, Ecclefechan, and Clydesmill.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, considering project scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Ensure project schedules align with NEC contractual obligations, specifically CL31, CL32, and Clause 60.1.
  • Collaborate with legal and contract management teams to resolve NEC-related disputes and claims.
  • Conduct schedule analysis to identify critical paths, dependencies, and potential risks.
  • Provide clear and concise high-level expert reports for stakeholders.
  • Assist in resource allocation and tracking to ensure optimal utilisation.
  • Communicate schedule information effectively to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide training on Programme Management, Claims, and disputes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in claims management and scheduling.
  • Ensure thorough review and acceptance of programmes by project teams and clients.


About You

  • Solid understanding of project planning principles with practical experience using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, maintaining, and analysing project schedules across multiple workstreams.
  • Familiarity with planning governance, baseline management, and change control processes.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., engineering, construction, commercial management) is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise reports and briefs.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and influence others.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of various forms of contract, including NEC 3 & 4.
  • Familiarity with statutory legislation, budgets, and forecasting.
