Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project in Inverness.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Commercial Management: Oversee applications, credit control, income optimization, cost forecasting, and the complete change control system.
- Reporting & Risk: Manage Cost to Complete (CTC) and Contract Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports while actively contributing to project risk management.
- Supply Chain: Lead the full sub-contract cycle, from procurement to dispute resolution.
- Advisory & Communication: Provide strategic commercial advice to project teams and foster strong, trustworthy relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Leadership & Development: Contribute to the tendering process, help shape training plans, and mentor/coach an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
About You
- Experience: Substantial post-qualification experience within a contracting commercial department.
- Education: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or holding an equivalent HND/HNC).
- Professional Development: Actively working toward a recognized professional qualification (e.g., RICS, ICES).
- Industry Knowledge: Solid working understanding of standard construction industry conditions of contract.
- Skills: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) with strong coaching and communication skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel to multiple renewable energy sites across the UK, including staying away from home 1 to 2 nights per week.
