Quantity Surveyor

Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project in Blantyre. This permanent position involves a mix of office work and site visits across the central belt, focusing on the commercial aspects of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team.
• Input into the application and credit control processes.
• Understand income forecasts and pricing of variations.
• Manage the change control system and project risk.
• Produce Cost Value Reports (CVRs) and Cost to Complete (CTC) reports.
• Generate forecasting data and manage the costing process.
• Oversee the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation.
• Conduct weekly cost-to-complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
• Upload necessary documentation in line with business requirements.
• Review weekly site records, including allocation sheets and site diaries.
• Attend project progress meetings.
• Prepare monthly financial performance reports.
• Gain experience outside the commercial function to better understand the business.

About You

• Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent.
• Substantial experience working in a contracting commercial department.
• Experience with multi-disciplined HV/LV infrastructure projects is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft packages, particularly Excel.
• Desirable: Driving license, use of ERP systems such as COINS, working towards a professional qualification, and knowledge of construction industry conditions of contract.
