Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Metocean and Hydrodynamics Engineer to support offshore wind projects across the full project lifecycle, from site assessment and design through construction and operations. The role focuses on metocean analysis, environmental data interpretation, design basis development, offshore installation support, and technical assurance. Experience with floating offshore wind is advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead metocean assessment strategies and offshore measurement campaigns.
  • Analyze metocean data and develop design criteria for offshore wind projects.
  • Review numerical models and environmental studies to support engineering decisions.
  • Provide technical input for offshore installation planning, marine operations, and weather window analysis.
  • Support certification, lender reviews, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and certification bodies.
  • Contribute hydrodynamic expertise to fixed-bottom projects while supporting future floating offshore wind initiatives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Ocean Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in offshore wind, offshore oil & gas, marine renewables, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of metocean analysis, offshore environmental conditions, and engineering applications.
  • Experience with offshore measurement campaigns, design basis development, and marine operations.
  • Familiarity with certification processes and numerical modelling is preferred.
  • Floating offshore wind experience is a plus.
