Our client is looking for an Installation Engineer - Cables to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of Offshore Wind Farm installation logistics.
- Support procurement with preparation of contracts and vessel charters with offshore construction companies.
- Technical assessment of installation methodologies. Review the Contractor's laying and burial procedures and ensure adherence to Employer's requirements, relevant standards, recommended practices, guidelines and industry best practices.
- Support Interface Management to scope-related internal and external stakeholders (work packages, other projects, contractors, authorities).
- Close collaboration with other work packages and projects including knowledge and experience sharing.
- Align with other stakeholders (FOU, OSS, WTG) and ensure the safe and efficient execution of the works.
- Review and assist in cable routing, cable pull-in and T&T methodologies.
- Review the Contractor's pre-installation engineering works and procedures.
- Coordinate with packages as well as other internal departments regarding project specific requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate the installation of IAC, including pre-laying surveys, cable laying, burial and jointing activities.
- Provision of technical assistance to the consenting team.
- Support the Project Planner with any necessary analysis of the project schedule regarding installation and commissioning works, and provide input for programme optimisation and lessons learnt in project planning.
- Lead Vessel Readiness Tracker for all operations.
- Deliver successful transport and installation of array cables.
- Obtain As Built Document for hand-over to Operations.
About You
- Strong experience in construction projects of offshore wind farms.
- Deep understanding of tendering and contracts used in array cable installation.
- Strong project management experience in offshore logistics.
- High commitment to HSE; prioritising the health and safety of all parties involved in the operation.
- Practical offshore installation experience.
- Ability to challenge work, input, or statements of others, including senior stakeholders.
- Experience with cable laying and burial.
- Experience with CPS suppliers.
- Experience with T&T.
- Proven knowledge of MS Office products.
- Experience with GIS, Orcaflex, and AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Strong command of English, both verbally and written.
- Proven track record in offshore wind construction.
