We are working with a rapidly growing international offshore wind and renewable energy business with operations across the UK, Europe, North America, and Asia.


The business develops and delivers specialist services across the offshore wind sector and is continuing to expand its international footprint. As the organisation grows, it is investing in strengthening its central finance function to support scalable financial processes, robust reporting, and effective governance across its international operations.

The organisation is seeking a Group Accountant to join its finance team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. This role will play a key part in maintaining financial integrity across the Group while supporting process improvement and the continued development of the finance function.

The Role
We are seeking a Group Accountant to support financial control, group reporting, and accounting operations across a growing international business. This is a highly detail-oriented and operationally focused role, working closely with the Group Financial Controller, finance colleagues, and international stakeholders.


The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting the ongoing development of accounting processes across multiple legal entities.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Accounting
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, journals, and fixed asset accounting across the Group
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and process depreciation journals
  • Review transactional accuracy across multiple international entities
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and support ongoing financial control activities

Balance Sheet & Month-End Reporting
  • Own the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process across the Group
  • Complete balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring reconciled trial balances are delivered on time
  • Prepare audit working papers and support statutory and external audit requirements

Group Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Support Group reporting and the consistent application of accounting policies
  • Assist with financial due diligence and broader finance projects where required
  • Support the onboarding of new legal entities and the integration of finance processes
  • Develop and improve accounting processes, financial controls, coding structures, and reporting consistency across the Group

Stakeholder & Team Support
  • Work closely with the Group Financial Controller, Project Accountant, and local finance teams across international operations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure financial accuracy across multiple entities
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior finance team members where appropriate
  • Contribute to the continued growth and scalability of the finance function

Experience and Background

Essential
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (ideally)
  • Strong experience in financial accounting within a multi-entity environment
  • Experience managing month-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial control experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail

Desirable
  • Experience within offshore wind, renewable energy, engineering, construction, or other project-based industries
  • Exposure to multi-currency accounting and international group structures
  • Experience supporting external audits and financial due diligence activities
  • Knowledge of finance process improvement and accounting controls within growing organisations
