General Manager - AI Data Center Projects

We are seeking a candidate who has successfully led or participated in the delivery of AI Data Center projects and can effectively provide leadership across Japanese construction contractors, engineering consultancies, and design institutes. The ideal individual will possess strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to bridge technical, commercial, and cultural requirements throughout project execution.
 

Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Project Delivery

  • Lead the full lifecycle delivery of AI Data Center (AIDC) projects from construction commencement through commissioning and operational go-live, ensuring effective control of schedule, budget, quality, and project risks.
2. Infrastructure & Power Management
Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of critical data center infrastructure, including:
  • High- and low-voltage electrical systems
  • Cooling and thermal management systems
  • Rack deployment and capacity planning
  • Space utilization and infrastructure optimization
Ensure all facilities are designed and delivered to support high-density AI computing environments.

3. Contractor & Vendor Management
  • Manage EPC contractors, civil works teams, MEP contractors, network infrastructure providers, and other key vendors. Ensure construction quality, safety, and compliance with Japanese regulations, industry standards, and project specifications.
4. External Stakeholder Coordination
  • Act as the primary interface with project partners, utility companies, local authorities, and regulatory bodies. Drive permitting, approvals, utility interconnection, and power supply arrangements to support project execution.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading or playing a key role in the successful delivery of at least one AI Data Center (AIDC) project.
  • Strong end-to-end data center project management experience, including:
    • General contractor (GC/EPC) management, Critical equipment procurement and delivery management
    • Cost control and budget management
    • Construction and commissioning oversight
  • Fluent in both Chinese and Japanese.
  • Native Chinese speaker preferred, with Japanese proficiency sufficient for business and stakeholder management.
