Commercial Manager

Our client is recruiting a Commercial Manager to work with their team on a large data centre project in the following locations: Copenhagen, DENMARK, Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS or Charleroi, BELGIUM. This is a permanent, site-based role suited to a quantity surveyor or commercial manager with a mechanical or MEP background, taking on campus-scale commercial responsibility with support from an experienced senior team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide quantity surveying support to the construction team across all commercial functions.
• Ensure compliance with contract obligations, advising and monitoring the construction team accordingly.
• Identify potential commercial risks and report them promptly to management.
• Compile monthly progress applications, ensuring accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works and claims are included.
• Carry out operational procurement activity and contract support alongside the procurement department.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award through interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Manage and forecast turnover and cash flow across the projects.
• Review and commercially manage all projects to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
• Identify, analyse and report on trends across the business and its projects.
• Review incoming correspondence from employers, the design team and subcontractors, identifying contractually critical items and initiating replies.
• Manage and mentor the wider commercial team on site.

About You

• A relevant third-level qualification in quantity surveying or construction economics is essential.
• At least eight years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience in a mechanical or MEP role.
• Data centre experience is preferable but not essential.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Located in Copenhagen, DENMARK, Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS or Charleroi, BELGIUM.
