Commercial Manager

Our client is looking for a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of a major renewable energy project in Amsterdam. This role offers long-term stability, senior guidance, and a clear path for professional progression within a leading engineering firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Oversee all contractual obligations, advise project delivery teams, identify potential commercial risks, and institute prompt mitigation/reporting measures.
• Valuations & Cashflow: Compile monthly progress applications, accurately managing remeasures, site variations, day-works, claims, turnover forecasting, and cash flow controls.
• Subcontractor Management: Lead subcontractor accounts end-to-end, from initial award and procurement support through to interim valuations, variations, and final account agreement.
• Project Reporting: Conduct comprehensive financial reviews across all project streams to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting to senior executive leadership.
• Team Leadership: Mentor, manage, and develop the site-based commercial and quantity surveying team.
• Stakeholder Relations: Review and manage all incoming formal correspondence from clients, design teams, and subcontractors to protect company commercial interests.

About You

• Qualifications: Degree / Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 8+ years post-qualification commercial management experience within construction / M&E contracting.
• Technical Background: Proven background in Electrical Contracting / M&E is required.
• Sector Expertise: Prior experience on Data Centre projects or mission-critical infrastructure is strongly preferred (though large-scale complex commercial background will be considered).
• Skills: Strong contractual acumen, excellent IT proficiency, and outstanding leadership and communication skills.
