Our client is looking for a Commercial Division Manager to lead the commercial delivery of major, high-profile Data Centre projects. In this pivotal leadership role, you will report directly to the Division Director and Group Commercial Manager, overseeing the financial performance and commercial delivery of major upcoming capital projects across Ireland and mainland Europe. You will lead a high-performing team of Commercial Leads, Senior, Intermediate, and Junior Quantity Surveyors.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Commercial Oversight: Take full accountability for the commercial performance, revenue, margins, and overall profitability of high-value projects in the Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, and Semiconductor sectors.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and foster the professional growth of a multi-tiered commercial QS team across Europe.
- Strategic Client & Operations Alignment: Work side-by-side with Operations Directors and the Board to drive divisional growth and maintain long-term strategic client relationships.
- Contract & Risk Management: Monitor contractual obligations, identify commercial risks early, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Tender & Procurement Support: Lead commercial input, negotiations, and adjudications for major division tenders, providing oversight for operational procurement and subcontract management.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Deliver accurate commercial reports, turnover/cash flow forecasts, and trend analyses directly to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
About You
- Qualifications: Degree / Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of post-qualification commercial management experience within construction contracting.
- Technical Background: Proven experience working within an M&E / Electrical Contracting environment is essential.
- Sector Expertise: Proven track record managing major complex infrastructure or mission-critical projects (e.g., Data Centres, Life Sciences, High-Tech Industrial).
- Skills: Excellent leadership capabilities, strategic negotiation skills, strong IT proficiency, and exemplary communication skills.
