This role offers the unique prospect of providing comprehensive legal support for cutting-edge Offshore wind projects. You will be at the forefront of a transformative industry, ensuring seamless business compliance and proactively managing legal risks. Your expertise will be pivotal in facilitating effective communication and collaboration between regulatory bodies, management, and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include overseeing both internal and external legal teams, negotiating crucial agreements and contracts, and empowering the legal team to serve as trusted business advisors. This position demands a proactive approach to counselling senior decision-makers and stakeholders on effective management of legal risks.
To excel in this role, a Master’s degree in law is essential, along with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar legal field. Offshore experience or knowledge would be a distinct advantage. A background in working with international teams is crucial, as is the ability to motivate and lead these teams to achieve sustainable results.
Proficiency in contract drafting (FIDIC), particularly for high-value agreements, and well-developed negotiation skills are required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, results-oriented, and possess an excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on assisting internal clients, i.e., the business team, are essential. Additionally, the capability to independently prioritise tasks is a must.
