Our client is seeking a Grid Engineer committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions. This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of the UK's renewable energy revolution, contributing to a sustainable future. As a Grid Engineer, you will be pivotal in ensuring engineering excellence in the delivery of grid engineering services. Embedded within the Grid Team of the Central Technical Organisation (CTO), your expertise will support a range of renewable energy projects and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the grid connections process from concept to delivery for multiple projects.
- Oversee contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with internal Health and Safety policies.
- Prepare and communicate contract documentation, technical requirements, and design specifications.
- Participate in industry forums and meetings to stay updated on grid system status and issues.
- Address technical, legal, or commercial queries related to connection offers and project execution.
- Ensure all grid and electrical assessments are fully documented and internal standards are continuously improved.
- Represent the client in external meetings with stakeholders.
Skills and Experience:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in managing electricity grid connection processes in the renewable energy sector.
- Power system modelling experience is advantageous.
- Strong risk management skills and the ability to build successful relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- A full clean UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
