Onshore Export Cable Engineer

Responsibilities Be part of the interdisciplinary sub-project "Onshore Export Cable". Effectively collaborate on civil engineering related aspects of the works necessary for the timely completion of the onshore cable route. Manage internal and external studies and consultancies for specific engineering scopes. Actively participate in the preparation of technical specifications for the construction of the onshore cables and cable installation. Take an active role in collaboration of the preparation, negotiation and award of supply contracts, as well as examination and evaluation of offered technical solutions. Support the design, construction and consenting processes (This also includes review of documents and the delivered technical solutions for compliance with specified requirements). Play a key role in strengthening interfaces to other work packages and even other wind farm developers. Experience/Requirements A master's degree or the equivalent in Civil Engineering. Or a bachelor’s degree and/or a technical/skilled worker formation plus extensive professional experience in the respective field. A very good knowledge of the construction of high voltage onshore cables, and at least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position, as well as extended project work and project implementation skills. A good understanding of the HSE requirements, CDM 2015 regulation and UK construction law, as well as local requirements (standards and requirements) for appropriate civil engineering works. Knowledge and experience of high voltage cables and their electrical properties is an advantage. Experience in participating contract negotiations and in contract management of large infrastructure investment projects is desirable. Fluency in Business English, German is a plus.
