Our client is seeking a Consents Manager, you will be at the forefront of delivering a 2GW portfolio of Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on aspects of the Development Consent Order (DCO) and Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) processes for projects in various development stages.
  • Identify and resolve project risks, collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Prepare, review, and submit consent application documents, ensuring compliance with environmental and planning legislation.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations, integrating consent requirements into project plans and schedules.
  • Build and maintain relationships with statutory bodies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to facilitate efficient consenting processes.
  • Mentor junior staff, ensuring high-quality delivery of consent-related activities.

Skills and Experience:
  • In-depth understanding of national and local planning laws, environmental regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple consent workstreams across different development stages.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Expertise in building relationships with regulators, local authorities, landowners, and community groups.
  • Experience in public consultation and managing sensitive issues.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, applications, and presenting to stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and resolve issues with stakeholders.
  • Precision in preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards.
  • Effective collaboration with internal colleagues and external consultants.
  • Understanding of land rights, environmental impact assessments, and contractual obligations related to consents.
