Business Development Manager
 
Location: Italy, Milan
 
Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager for Italy, Greece, and Romania. In this role, you will spearhead the growth and acquisition of renewable energy projects, particularly focusing on photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Your main objective will be to identify, negotiate, and secure new opportunities within the renewable energy sector, thereby amplifying our market presence and project portfolio.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify key opportunities and market trends in Italy, Greece, and Romania for renewable energy projects.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans to penetrate and expand market share in the photovoltaic (PV) and BESS sectors.
• Identify and engage with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders to build strong business relationships and secure new project opportunities.
• Lead negotiations and contract discussions with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for project acquisition.
• Proactively identify and evaluate potential photovoltaic (PV) and BESS projects suitable for acquisition or development.
• Assess project feasibility, including technical, financial, and regulatory aspects, to make informed investment decisions.
• Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams including legal, finance, engineering, and operations to facilitate project development and execution.
• Provide leadership and guidance to business development teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Stay abreast of relevant regulatory policies, incentives, and market dynamics impacting the renewable energy sector in target markets.
• Utilize market intelligence to anticipate opportunities and challenges, adapting business strategies accordingly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Proven track record in business development within the renewable energy industry, with specific experience in photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends in Italy and/or Greece, and/or Romania.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess project feasibility and financial viability.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in Italian, Greek, and/or Romanian languages (as applicable).
• This position may require frequent travel within Italy, Greece, and Romania to engage with clients, attend industry events, and oversee project activities.
