Our client is looking for a Transmission Civil/Structural Engineer to coordinate the development of a major renewable energy project.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering support to achieve objectives for safety, quality, cost and schedule.
  • Jointly lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering activities across the project.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent engineering approach across offshore and onshore works.
  • Manage the development of the offshore design to achieve Independent Certification Body (ICB) certification.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are safe, practical, commercially efficient, constructible and certifiable.
  • Provide technical oversight of designs for civil/structural works through reviewing and guiding engineering design development.
  • Support design optimisation throughout the project lifecycle and ensure quality assurance of engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and technical decision-making.
  • Support efficient handover of design documentation for operations and maintenance.
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces across project packages and support procurement activities.
  • Liaise with certification bodies and Marine Warranty Surveyors to resolve technical queries.
  • Monitor project budgets in conjunction with the Cost Controller.
  • Identify engineering risks and opportunities early and support their effective management.
  • Ensure engineering outputs meet project quality standards and review structural documentation issued to third parties.


About You

  • Significant experience within multi-disciplinary engineering design teams for large infrastructure or offshore energy projects.
  • Direct responsibility for tunnelling/HDD, transition joint bays, offshore substation topside design, and major civil infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary engineering design through FEED and detailed design.
  • Experience managing Owner's Engineers and engineering consultants.
  • Strong understanding of design assurance, certification and independent verification processes.
  • Excellent project management skills covering programme, contracts, cost, risk and quality.
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
