Senior Authorised Persons 11kv

The Senior Authorised Person (SAP) is a pivotal role responsible for the safe planning, execution, and supervision of high-voltage (HV) electrical works on 11kV and 33kV distribution networks. This role is integral to ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with DNO/IDNO standards and company procedures. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team within a reputable organisation, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of HV projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Senior Authorised Person for HV switching and isolation activities.
• Plan and manage 11kV and 33kV construction and commissioning projects.
• Produce and approve switching schedules and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with DNOs, IDNOs, clients, and commissioning engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations and DNO safety rules.
• Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and energisation of HV networks.
• Manage project documentation, RAMS, permits, and quality records.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, and programme delivery.
• Lead site teams and ensure safe working practices.
• Participate in audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current or recent Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation.
• SSE AUTHORISATION.
• Experience operating on HV distribution networks (11kV/33kV).
• Strong knowledge of DNO/IDNO standards and procedures.
• Experience with:

• Secondary switchgear commissioning

• Substations and underground cable networks
• HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout the UK.
