Project Quality Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity to lead quality management across major infrastructure and engineering projects. This role is responsible for embedding a robust project quality management system throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring quality is proactively managed through governance, risk management, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will champion a culture of quality excellence by promoting effective systems, processes, accountability, and collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective project quality management system using a risk-based approach.
  • Ensure project quality plans and supporting quality documentation are established, maintained, and followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive quality governance through non-conformance management, lessons learned, internal audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote quality awareness and accountability across project teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with project leadership and HSE functions to minimise quality risks and support project delivery.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to project personnel to strengthen quality capability and best practice.
  • Ensure quality requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and monitored throughout all project phases.
  • Track and report quality performance using key performance indicators, trend analysis, and regular project reviews.
  • Support effective quality handovers between project phases.
  • Work alongside supplier quality teams to monitor supplier performance and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate and support internal quality assurance activities and project audits.

Key Activities

  • Maintain and continually improve project quality systems, procedures, and documentation.
  • Develop and manage project quality plans, quality schedules, and associated governance documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project quality risks through established risk management processes.
  • Support project governance reviews and stage gate processes.
  • Lead internal audits, lessons learned workshops, and non-conformance investigations.
  • Monitor corrective actions to ensure root causes are effectively addressed.
  • Deliver quality training, awareness campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate regular quality review meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Produce quality performance reports and KPI dashboards.
  • Escalate significant quality risks or concerns where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years' experience in Quality Management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or another relevant discipline.
  • Professional quality qualifications or recognised certifications (e.g. Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in Project Quality Assurance and/or Supplier Quality Management within sectors such as construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, offshore, energy, industrial, or renewable projects.
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital or construction projects within complex project organisations is advantageous.
  • Experience working within international and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and improve corporate quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fluent English.

Additional Information

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid working arrangement with a combination of office, project site, and remote working.
  • Regular travel to project locations and occasional international travel may be required.
