Planning Specialist

Our client is looking for a Planning Specialist to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project. This role will be based in Glasgow, Perth, or Aberdeen, with a minimum of 50% office-based work and some ad hoc site visits as required. Candidates must be based in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate programmes and manage dependencies between projects.
• Manage cost-loaded programmes and maintain detailed, construction-focused project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Conduct scenario planning and interface management at package, project, and portfolio levels.
• Review third-party and supply chain schedules for integrity and compliance with contracts.
• Perform critical path analysis, delay analysis, and risk management.
• Develop robust mitigation strategies to maintain schedule integrity.
• Conduct Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis to identify risks in the schedule.
• Utilise Microsoft Office software packages effectively.
• Implement Earned Value Management and Change Management processes.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective communication and understanding.
• Support junior members of the planning team and build effective relationships across the business.

About You

• Extensive experience in major, complex infrastructure or construction programmes.
• Ability to operate at programme level and establish planning structures, controls, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of construction-stage planning, including NEC3 compensation events.
• Experience in leading teams and working closely with directors and senior stakeholders.
• Confident in challenging and managing contractors.
• Able to work proactively with minimal supervision.
