Offshore Lead Cables Installation Specialist

Our client is looking for an Offshore Lead Cables Installation Specialist to support the delivery of the cables package for both the offshore export cable and inter-array cabling system for a major renewable energy project. The successful candidate will ensure that all technical installation and commercial elements of the cables packages are managed efficiently, safely, and within budget. They will also be responsible for managing and coordinating the tendering and clarification phase of both export and inter-array cables.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contractor cable system designs and installation methodologies with respect to the Employer's Requirements.
• Co-ordinate all aspects of the tendering phase, including managing and responding to clarifications from the project and contractors, and conducting technical and commercial evaluations.
• Work with other package teams to ensure efficient management of cables inputs and outputs.
• Prepare technical documentation and specifications for internal or contractor's use.
• Participate in meetings with contractor representatives to ensure compliance with Employer's Requirements and the contract.
• Review offshore site investigation data and provide design input to optimise cable burial, protection methodologies, and route engineering.
• Produce a cable RPL and review detailed costing of materials, production, and technical services provided by contractors.
• Support various Package Managers in executing their contracts and prepare formal reports to assist engineering design decisions.
• Participate in meetings with contractor representatives throughout the project execution phase to ensure compliance with Employer's requirements and the contract.
• Lead audits of contractor's cable manufacturing facilities and installation vessels.
• Contribute proactively to the delivery of a safer wind farm that minimises the cost of energy over the project's life.
• Integrate HSE and environmental requirements into the cable delivery strategy.
• Input into a risk register, HSE assessments, and engineering decision log for the cables.
• Support value management and project optimisation processes.

About You

• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in submarine cable installation and testing.
• Experience in technical and commercial evaluation of submarine cable systems.
• Proficient in contract preparation and evaluation for vessels and subsea operations.
• Strong stakeholder management capability and good communication skills.
• Experience in managing and delivering complex projects.
• Good decision-making capability and judgement.
• Level 8 engineering qualification or equivalent work experience is required.
