About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Legal Counsel to join our regional legal team. This role offers a balanced mix of domestic legal advisory work and regional legal support, providing exposure to cross-border legal matters within an international business environment.

The successful candidate will advise business stakeholders on a wide range of commercial and corporate legal matters while collaborating closely with regional legal colleagues on multinational projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Domestic Legal Support (Approximately 50%)

  • Provide legal advice on Korean commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documentation.
  • Support business teams on contractual negotiations and risk assessment.
  • Advise on corporate governance, compliance, and general legal issues.
  • Coordinate with external counsel where necessary.

Regional Legal Support (Approximately 50%)

  • Support regional legal projects across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Review and negotiate regional commercial agreements.
  • Assist with cross-border transactions and legal initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional legal teams on compliance, governance, and corporate matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda for regional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer admitted in either:
    • South Korea; or
    • A common law jurisdiction (such as the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Singapore, or other recognized common law jurisdictions).
  • Approximately 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), preferably with an international law firm or multinational corporation.
  • Experience in commercial contracts, corporate law, and general legal advisory work.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across international teams.
  • Fluent in both Korean and English (written and spoken).
  • Experience supporting regional or cross-border legal matters is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within multinational companies or international legal teams.
  • Exposure to infrastructure, energy, construction, or project development sectors is an advantage.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
