Technical Training Instructor – Overhead Lines (OHL)
Location: Nottingham, with travel when required
About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the UK’s energy infrastructure sector, is seeking a Technical Training Instructor to join their Electricity Transmission division. This division is responsible for the design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage substations - up to and including 400kV - and the maintenance of transmission lines. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality technical training with a strong focus on health and safety.
- Continuously review and enhance training content and delivery standards.
- Contribute to the development of new training materials and course content.
- Provide expert technical training advice across the business.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all delegates during training sessions.
- Conduct competency assurance assessments in line with industry standards.
- Support internal audits and incident investigations.
- Maintain accurate training records and manage associated processes.
- Represent the training function professionally, promoting company values.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance the reputation of the training school.
Candidate Profile
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Hands-on experience working at height, ideally within an OHL or similar environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Confident communicator, both in writing and when presenting to groups.
- Solid understanding of risk assessments and control measures.
- Proven leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to training delivery.
- Experience in customer or stakeholder relationship management.
