About the Opportunity
Our client, a prominent and trusted Independent Connection Provider (ICP), is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their Distribution & Connections team. As one of the UK’s largest ICPs, the organisation supports the development and maintenance of distribution networks, delivering reliable infrastructure and customer connections across the country.
This role is part of the Substation Build Team, delivering projects on behalf of major Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) such as UKPN and SSEN, covering voltages from 11kV to 132kV.

As one of the UK’s largest ICPs, the organisation supports the development and maintenance of distribution networks, delivering reliable infrastructure and customer connections across the country.
This role is part of the Substation Build Team, delivering projects on behalf of major Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) such as UKPN and SSEN, covering voltages from 11kV to 132kV.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities from initiation to completion.
- Develop and implement Health & Safety Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments in line with current SHEQ legislation.
- Lead and manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient working practices.
- Maintain strong client relationships through regular progress meetings and site audits.
- Ensure all site operations are completed within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
- Support the delivery of electrical planned works, customer connections, and network reinforcement projects.
Candidate Profile
- HNC/Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
- Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
- Proven background in the construction and electricity industry, with experience working in substations up to 132kV.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and cost/value reporting.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
