LSP Renewables are partnered with a leading global EPC to find a dynamic BESS Engineer to join their U.K O&M team, to perform both preventative and corrective maintenance tasks across the North of England region. This role specifically requires expertise in BESS, as the successful candidate will provide second-line service for BESS technologies and will be expected to undertake all elements of BESS maintenance and service work. Key Responsibilities: Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical work including wiring, racking, and interconnection. Configure and test BMS (Battery Management System), EMS (Energy Management System), and PCS (Power Conversion System) components. Conduct pre-commissioning checks, system calibration, and functional verification testing. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, communication, and control system issues on-site. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, electrical codes, and equipment manufacturer standards. Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and performance monitoring of deployed BESS units. Maintain detailed logs, site reports, commissioning documentation, and as-built drawings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical contractors, OEM vendors, and project managers. Support training and handover for operations & maintenance teams post-commissioning. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and manufacturer manuals. Knowledge of energy storage standards and grid compliance requirements.
