Project Manager
Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager. This role is pivotal in delivering the Energy Transmission business strategy and achieving project objectives. The position requires a seasoned professional to manage commercial and business risks, ensuring targets are met. The successful candidate will be integral to fostering a collaborative team environment, working closely with the Head of Transmission, Regional Manager, and Support Functions to deliver projects efficiently and safely. Leadership in Zero Harm and continuous improvement across Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) are essential aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver the Energy Transmission business strategy and objectives on assigned projects.
• Manage commercial and business risks to achieve targets.
• Understand and apply relevant commercial terms and conditions for projects.
• Proactively manage customer relationships during project delivery, including change and decision-making processes.
• Lead Zero Harm initiatives and drive continuous improvement across SHEQ.
• Participate in Safety Tours on projects.
• Ensure the implementation of a Sensible Monitoring Schedule on projects.
• Progress and close timely incident investigations.
• Collaborate to target the best opportunities for Energy Transmission and utilise resources efficiently.
• Provide clear and visible leadership, displaying appropriate leadership behaviours.
• Develop and support project teams to ensure success through positive communication and active listening.
• Work collaboratively with senior management and support functions to enhance working relationships across the business.
• Plan, control, and manage project delivery within agreed cost, timescale, and quality parameters.
• Instil a strong safety culture and develop team capabilities for personal responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with all business policies, procedures, and governance.
• Lead the development of a high-performance, one-team culture.
• Support the tender process and seek out future talent.
• Manage client expectations daily while promoting the value brought to projects.
Qualifications
• Proven experience at Management Level.
• Experience in managing and delivering Overhead Line, Cabling, or Substation schemes up to 400kV is preferable.
• Strong people management skills.
• Proven track record in tendering and managing standard, complex, or major projects, including sub-contractors.
• Commercial awareness with knowledge of budgetary and financial control.
• Excellent relationship management skills.
• Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to address sensitive issues and lead cross-functional teams towards solutions.
