Exciting Role for a Protection Engineer. This initiative aims to deliver resilient, robust systems using the latest technology for new National Grid substations and to enhance existing infrastructure. The project is committed to a safer and lower carbon delivery footprint.

Location: This role offers the flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK, with the option to work remotely. 

Impactful Responsibilities:
- Deliver transmission protection and control systems for end-customers across various domains.
- Technically lead a Protection engineering team, mentoring and coaching team members.
- Assess and optimise the Protection Engineering process to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Provide innovative solutions as a technical lead for UK Transmission and Distribution network projects.
- Ensure solutions align with the latest policies and standards.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and quality.
- Offer technical feedback to Sales, Proposals, and Operations departments.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience:
- Experience in multidisciplinary teams delivering technical Protection and Automation solutions.
- Application of protection and control systems on the National Grid transmission network.
- In-depth knowledge of National Grid delivery, specifications, and standards.
- National Grid Contractor Design Approval Engineer experience (Assurance or Contractor).
- Detailed design knowledge, including circuit diagrams and more.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software tools for design, simulation, and testing; SIPROTEC/DIGSI knowledge is desirable.
- Experience managing NG as a direct customer and/or EPC customers for protection solutions in brownfield extensions or greenfield builds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for efficient coordination between team/function groups and customers.
- Minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, plus extensive experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
