Overview

Our client is a global Independent Power Producer (IPP) with onshore renewable energy operations across seven countries. They are seeking an experienced Senior Asset Manager to take full operational responsibility for a portfolio of renewable energy assets in Romania.
The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering strong technical and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring operational excellence, effective risk management, and cost control. This role involves close collaboration with local and international Asset Management teams, internal functions, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Maximise energy production and revenue across the asset portfolio, while minimising downtime, operational losses, and inefficiencies
Define asset operational requirements and plan associated activities
Forecast operational and financial asset performance for budgeting and business planning purposes
Ensure completeness and accuracy of technical and commercial documentation for all plants
Monitor plant performance and identify, analyse, and resolve issues on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Perform incident investigation and performance analysis, recommending corrective actions where required
Support the negotiation and management of Operations & Maintenance (O&M), security, and other operational contracts
Manage the onboarding of assets from the construction team into operations
Enforce contractual warranties with contractors and suppliers
Manage insurance claims and related follow‑up activities
Conduct technical site inspections and manage interventions through contractual frameworks and service agreements
Provide on‑site supervision as required

Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience in asset management of PV, BESS, or wind assets within the Romanian market
Strong knowledge of grid connection processes and regulatory requirements for renewable energy generation in Romania
Proven understanding of operational interactions between energy producers and network operators, including both TSO and DSOs
Solid knowledge of fundamental financial KPIs and asset performance metrics Demonstrated capability to manage technical, operational, and financial performance, including energy optimisation, OPEX control, and KPI reporting
Strong analytical skills, with experience managing large and complex datasets
Hands‑on experience with asset management digital tools, including: SCADA system, asset management platforms, ERP systems, reporting dashboards, automation or AI‑enabled applications
Advanced level of English (written and spoken)
