We are supporting a newly established European platform of a well-capitalised international energy company in hiring a Senior Analyst / Junior Associate. The role will play a key part in scaling investments across energy and digital infrastructure.

This position suits a candidate with strong financial modelling and valuation experience, comfortable operating across investment, development, and commercial workstreams within a lean, high-impact team.

While the broader mandate spans clean energy and digital infrastructure, BESS is the immediate strategic priority.

Key Responsibilities

Investment & Modelling (Core Focus)

Build, own, and run detailed financial models for assets (project and portfolio level)
Evaluate revenue stacking opportunities for BESS (ancillary services, merchant trading, capacity markets, optimisation strategies)
Support valuation, structuring, and investment decision-making for storage opportunities
Develop and challenge key assumptions including degradation, dispatch, pricing curves, and optimisation strategies

Deal Execution & Co-Investments

Support evaluation and execution of co-investments in BESS projects alongside developers and strategic partners
Assist in M&A processes (asset-level and platform-level), with a focus on storage-led opportunities
Prepare investment committee materials and financial analysis

Market & Strategy (BESS-Focused)

Track BESS market dynamics across the UK and Europe, including regulation, routes to market, and evolving revenue models
Provide insight into market design, pricing volatility, and competitive positioning
Support development of the platform’s BESS investment strategy and pipeline

Technical & Commercial Integration

Work closely with technical advisors on system sizing, duration, degradation, and performance assumptions
Review and challenge third-party optimisation models and technical inputs
Act as a bridge between technical and commercial teams, ensuring investment cases are robust

Broader Infrastructure Exposure

Contribute to adjacent investments across renewables and flexible infrastructure (e.g. co-located storage, hybrid assets)
Potential longer-term exposure to digital infrastructure opportunities

Candidate Profile

2–5 years’ experience in infrastructure, energy, renewables, or advisory
Demonstrable experience modelling BESS or power market-linked assets is strongly preferred
Strong financial modelling skills (project finance / valuation / scenario analysis)
Understanding of power markets, flexibility, or merchant revenue models highly desirable
Experience in M&A, project finance, or development is advantageous
Degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or similar
