The organisation is seeking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, project accounting, operational finance activities, and continuous process improvement across the business.

The Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support core accounting, reporting, and operational finance activities across a growing project-based business operating within the marine and offshore services sector.
This is a hands-on and commercially focused role, acting as a key interface between finance, operational teams, and leadership stakeholders. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting project performance monitoring, and contributing to the continued development of the finance function environment

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare journal entries and financial statements
Reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts
Assist with audits and compliance requirements
Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and internal policies

Project & Operational Finance

Assist with project accounting and cost tracking across operational activities
Monitor project costs, accruals, and operational spend
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Work closely with operational and project teams to ensure financial alignment across ongoing activities
Assist with payroll, AP/AR oversight, and cash flow reporting where required

Process Improvement & Finance Support

Support process improvements and strengthening of financial controls
Assist with broader operational finance and reporting activities across the business
Contribute to the continued development of finance processes within a fast-paced operational environment

Experience and Background

Essential

CPA designation or actively working toward CPA qualification
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
5+ years’ accounting experience
Strong financial reporting and reconciliations experience
Experience within project-based or operational environments
Advanced Excel capability
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work full-time onsite in Vancouver

Desirable:

Experience within offshore, marine, subsea, engineering, oil & gas, or related industries
Exposure to operational or field-based project environments
Experience supporting multi-entity or project accounting structures
Background working within fast-paced or high-growth businesses
