Senior Project Lead – Renewable Energy M&A & Due Diligence (EMEA)

We are representing a leading international technical advisory and independent engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Lead to join its Renewable Energy Due Diligence team.
The role focuses on leading and delivering complex M&A, financing, and transaction-related technical due diligence across solar PV, battery storage, and onshore wind projects throughout the EMEA region.
This is a senior, client-facing position with responsibility for end-to-end project leadership, proposal development, and relationship management, working closely with investors, lenders, developers, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute technical due diligence (TDD) assignments supporting renewable energy financing, acquisitions, and divestments

Manage multi-technology portfolios across solar PV, BESS, and onshore wind

Perform and oversee site assessments, technology reviews, design evaluations, contract analysis, and financial model reviews

Produce high-quality, comprehensive TDD and technical advisory reports, integrating inputs from engineering, environmental, and financial specialists

Conduct and lead site visits, assessing progress against technical specifications, budgets, and schedules

Prepare and manage project proposals, including scope definition, resourcing, budgets, and timelines

Act as the primary client interface, leading meetings, building trusted relationships, and delivering tailored advisory solutions

Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to high quality standards

Support team development and growth, mentoring junior staff and embedding best practices

Identify and manage project risks, proposing practical mitigation strategies

Contribute to broader business development and strategic initiatives within the advisory platform
Candidate Profile
-
8–10+ years’ experience across renewable energy project management, due diligence, development, construction, operations, and/or M&A
-
Proven track record delivering utility-scale renewable projects

Strong technical understanding of solar PV, onshore wind, and BESS, including Balance of Plant (BoP), performance metrics, and key technical risks

Experience reviewing contracts, designs, and financial models as part of transaction processes

Deep understanding of regional renewable energy markets and stakeholder landscapes

Confident, resilient leader capable of managing multiple complex projects under tight deadlines

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging at senior and investor level

Risk-aware, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate and manage challenges

Relevant degree in engineering, construction, environmental studies, operations, finance, commercial or legal disciplines; postgraduate renewable energy qualification advantageous
