An established client is looking for an experienced Wayleave/ Access Liaison Officer with experience in the energy infrastructure sector to join their team. This role is integral to the successful delivery of projects that ensure the safe supply of power to millions of households across the UK. The position involves working closely with various stakeholders, including landowners, local authorities, and project teams, to facilitate access to private land and manage relationships throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining client and landowner relationships, resolving complaints, and ensuring compliance with landowner requirements during construction works.

Key Responsibilities

• Involvement in the day-to-day running of projects, focusing on agreeing access onto private land.
• Maintain and manage client and landowner relationships.
• Liaise and confirm accommodation works requirements, including access road installation, temporary roads, land drainage, fencing, and work area preparation.
• Collaborate with the project delivery team, subcontractors, and consultancy teams to communicate and manage landowner requirements.
• Resolve landowner and client complaints and defects, providing agricultural advice as needed.
• Correspond with land agents, landowners, local authorities, and associated contractors, preparing notices and formalities for land entry.
• Conduct site meetings prior to work commencement to agree on access and perform daily site visits to ensure compliance with landowner requirements.
• Carry out utility searches.
• Assist in providing regular client update reports and attend scheme progress meetings.
• Prepare Notice plans, access plans, and Schedules of Works.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of agriculture legislation, policy, and best practice guidance in areas such as agricultural drainage and soil assessment and management.
• Understanding of agricultural operations, land drainage, and environmental policies/schemes is advantageous.
• Experience working on large cross-country infrastructure projects is beneficial.
• Proven experience managing relationships with multiple landowners simultaneously.
• Organised and capable of managing a varied and busy workload.
• Excellent communication skills and credibility with landowners.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
