Electrical Engineer - Senior

Our client is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project. This role is based in Glasgow, Perth, or Aberdeen, with a requirement to be present in the Glasgow office once per week. The contract is for a duration of 6 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver front-end electrical engineering design works.
• Develop electrical contract documentation including management and preparation of substation and electrical balance of plant contracts and Works Information.
• Write, review and update technical specifications for substation and electrical balance of plant equipment.
• Review external contractor's design documentation to ensure client requirements are met.
• Attend Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Tests of major substation components to ensure adequate testing has been achieved.

About You

• Experience in offshore wind electrical design.
• Proven experience in substation layout design, primary equipment specifications, and testing up to 400kV.
• Good technical knowledge and experience of renewable electricity generation or transmission.
• A strong working knowledge of engineering legislation and industry good practice relevant to substation designs, primary plant, and protection.
• Thorough understanding of commercial awareness to understand implications of engineering activities and decisions.
