Electrical Engineer

Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project focused on the design of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar. This role is offered on an initial 6-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical solutions from an early stage, defining infrastructure and equipment requirements.
• Work across interfaces between renewable assets and the 33 kV through to EHV connection infrastructure.
• Provide technical input across the full project lifecycle, from early development and design through to construction and handover.
• Undertake technical reviews of engineering outputs produced by consultants, contractors, and OEMs.
• Support the development of engineering standards, specifications, and ways of working.
• Contribute to the resolution of technical issues and provide pragmatic engineering guidance across projects.
• Promote a collaborative and delivery-focused culture within the engineering team.

About You

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is desirable.
• Demonstrable experience in the development and delivery of infrastructure or energy projects, ideally within solar PV or BESS.
• Strong grounding in electrical engineering with experience across a range of systems relevant to PV and BESS projects.
• Experience of working within multidisciplinary project teams and managing or coordinating engineers, consultants, or contractors.
• Strong awareness of safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements within an engineering and construction environment.
• Good understanding of relevant UK standards, regulations, and grid requirements applicable to renewable energy projects.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to prioritise and manage multiple activities across a portfolio of projects.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and attend key project activities as required.
• Full UK driving licence.
