Job Location(s): Western Isles with office base in either Glasgow, Inverness, or Perth
Hybrid working - a mix of visits to Western Isles and base office working. Construction - 5–6 days per week on site (Lewis, Western Isles), with rotational arrangements where applicable
Typical expectation is to spend majority of working week on allocated site when construction commences (Western Isles) Pre-construction phase will require frequent visits to Western Isles.
The role
Our client is seeking Construction Managers to lead delivery of a £500m+ civil & building, and substation packages on the Western Isles HVDC Link Project.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of works through pre-construction and execution phases, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery within a complex, live, multi-package site environment.
This is a site-based leadership role, requiring strong interface management, proactive risk management and the ability to drive contractor performance against programme, quality and safety requirements.
You will

Lead and promote a strong site safety culture in line with the businesses Safety Licence and Golden Rules
Manage construction delivery to meet design, programme, quality and environmental requirements
Drive effective preconstruction planning to ensure constructability and safe delivery strategies
Manage contractor performance and hold delivery teams accountable for programme and quality outcomes
Coordinate interfaces across contractors, stakeholders and the local community, acting as the primary site point of contact to resolve issues and maintain progress

You have

Proven experience delivering largescale civil or infrastructure projects, ideally in a site-based role, with exposure to complex builds such as HVDC, substations or similar
Strong understanding of health & safety management in highrisk construction environments, including CDM 2015
Experience working under NEC3 contracts, ideally within a Supervisor or site assurance capacity
Demonstrable ability to manage complex interfaces and resolve onsite construction challenges
Strong leadership and communication skills to influence delivery teams, supported by relevant site qualifications (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS)
